After much deliberation we figured he should do the surgery since he is still young and active. The problem was that he couldn't do the surgery during his busy season (spring - fall). So, the first opportunity was early November. To add another piece to the puzzle, he found out that he would be in a sling for six weeks and then can't lift anything over one pound for three months. Yes, this poses an interesting situation with having a baby in six weeks, but we figured now is better than waiting one more year when we have a one year old. So, he scheduled it for the day we got back from Florida. These pictures show him going off to surgery ...

Now, for the picture right after surgery ... he was out of it!!
He has quite a contraption on for the next few weeks. Hopefully when he goes back the sling will become less cumbersome.
It is pretty funny when I can barely tie my own shoes over my belly, but am having to tie Ry's for him! :)The good news is that November is traditionally our bad month:
November 8, 2006 - Ryan breaks his foot in Mexico
November 8, 2007 - Carrie finds out she broke her foot in India
So this year, we just planned our own bad situation (Ry's surgery on November 6) in hopes that nothing else goes wrong for us! We are keeping our fingers crossed.
